It’s a struggle to read. I guess it’s hard to follow through after the action packed A Storm of Swords. The title already hints there’s a lot of recovering to go through…an aftermath of what once was. I need to stop. I don’t want to spoil.
So to say this without ruining the reading experience: Martin should’ve made the book’s journey the destination.

Sorry, but I did NOT appreciate the pretentious tone of this piece. It is not the fault of a student in poverty who cannot afford a better education that he/she cannot read an expensive magazine/book commuting. Or that carrying one gets in the way of rushing to work, or makes your bag vulnerable to getting mugged. Yes, the educational system should work on the humanities, but let’s not rag...
